PKM link inventory at our European Depot, Ready to Ship.
Apart from regular production orders, inventory updated as of 9th March, 2023, subject to prior sale to the first confirmed orders. See below for current U.S. and European levels remaining, subject to prior sale(s).
PKM Links: Current U.S. Inventory: 655,200 PKM Links (117 wooden cases of 5,600 links/case) new unissued production in United States, subject to prior sale on the above 100rd configuration. We will ship as little as one case CONUS/Domestically to support our customers (no import export permits required). Due to the fluctuations of the American market, more will only be brought in with a 60-90 turn around when most of these links are sold.
PKM Links: Current European Inventory: 3,024,000 PKM Links (540 wooden cases of 5,600 links/case) new unissued production, subject to prior sale on the above 100rd configuration. More production with up to 2 million per montn; Production scheduling also subject to prior sale. We are rotating this stock as current stock sells however all production is new unissued. We will ship as little as one pallet case to support our customers. Import/export permits are still required.
N.B
Additional PKM Link Production: Subject to production availability scheduling
Stock on hand:100 rd belts with starter tab, 2 oiled belts per plastic bag, 28 bags or 56 belts (5,600 links) per one wooden crate (43 Kg/Gw).
PKM Links continued: We will sell as little as one case (U.S. Only – European Stock must have viable export quantities to cover cost of export process) to help customers out at these prices and to support our ammunition program based on stock on hand. We outline this only to avoid surprises and disappointment. We also produce new production 7.62 x 54R ammunition or on occasion will provide surplus/stock ammunition, as available, linked in combat ready configurations depending on budget and delivery/timing needs. As not all 7.62 x54R ammunition is created equal and some loaded for rifle use only, we highly urge that surplus lots of ammunition be tested for reliable function in PKM series machine guns; “Caveat Emptor” or “Let buyer beware”. This in addition to the fact that some 7.62 x 54R ammunition was produced for rifles only or was made to a lower civilian specifications and will not function in a PKM machine gun, lacking enough recoil impulse. We can provide linking and testing as an option, even with customer supplied ammunition, or provide basic hand cranked linking machines, also in stock, to link yourselves in the field.
N.B we will also offer samples of 10 – 100rd belts with starter tab. Small Quantity United States only, not Europe due to export procedure. See Note below (1)
Other Configurations: We produce new 2023 production or can re-configure existing stock on hand to 50rd belts, 100 rd belts, 200rd belts or 250rd belts
Special Note: We have found that 100rd belts with starter tab are the most practical lengths. Belt lengths can also be modified by hand to 50, 100, 200 or 250 rd length in the field or at depot with a pair of needle nose pliers
Pricing: Please enquire for specific pricing of stock on hand as noted above and more new production. Beyond stock which is immediately available (subject to prior sale), our monthly production capacity will vary depending on customer demand and is based on orders on a first come, first served basis to be fair and place all concerned on a level playing field. We continue to maintain our pricing at original levels without increase based on stock in hand of inventory and raw material inventory which. Due to extreme price gouging by others in the past ten years some cases our price remains at least several times less then other qualified PKM link producers or those hiding inflated prices by delivering with ammunition linked. We are happy to quote separately so you see what you are paying for. U.S. Inventory only 5% over European inventory to cover transport and import into the US at cost. The price will only apply when imported by sea freight. For Emergency air freight this will be the lower European stock price plus airfreight at cost for emergency airlift to be completely transparent.
N.B. (1) as of March 2016: While we ship cases, pallets and containers of new production PKM links at much lower prices, we are now offering 10 – 100rd belts each with Starter Tab (1000 links, 10 starter tabs) for $300.00 per lot delivered in the domestic United States only. Ships least expensive way only such as USPS or UPS, unless you want to pay the difference in transport. This is a good start for USG programs that need samples but have no funding, and we will even accept payment on your USG credit card. Also for civilian shooters, who at about 700 RPM your PKM has put you in the “poor house” and cannot afford a full case, based on our “Poo Folks” pricing offer (the name of an actual restaurant in West Virginia).
We also offer 5,600 PKM link case pricing, full pallet pricing, and 1,000,000 link pricing directly from stock for 4-5 day emergency delivery to domestic US Conus bases so they can be overnight anywhere U.S.A.F transport wing flies. This is why we depot them in an heated, air conditioned U.S. warehouse for USG emergency delivery, since 2009 at our expense. For all of us who have served in the armed forces we understand military “hurry up and wait” procurement that will never change as the armed forces have changing priorities thrown at them out of the blue. No other contractor that we know of will carry six figures of “lost leader inventory” for the USG in the United States alone.
Production Certifications: These links are factory new production from new qualified raw materials. In addition to being built under ISO 9001 -2008 standards, they are also produced to the Quality Assurance & acceptance TDP package for standard East block / former Warsaw pact military “class A” combat qualified components. As of 2012 these PKM links are also certified under NATO Certification AQAP 2110 which is unusual for Eastern Standard 7.62 x 54R PKM Link production. These links meet or exceed these standards. They are not to be confused with refurbished surplus links that are currently being bought as scrap by the kilogram and refinished and passed off as new production, with disastrous and potentially fatal consequences in the field when they either jam the ammunition in the belt or some links fail to hold the ammunition in place. We only mention this as it is a chronic problem of fraud in the Eastern Standard equipment field.

Other Technical Notes
Special Note: Properly designed & qualified 7.62 x 54R PKM links such as this, unlike single use disposable 7.62 x 51 Nato M-13 links and 5.56 x 45 M-27 links, are intended by qualified Eastern Standards to be reused up to 10 times if taken good care of in training non combat operations. There is no need to order links with every ammunition order. Most of our 7.62 x 54R customers will order FMJ ball, tracer, API, or blank ammunition packed separately and link the configuration and mix of ammunition on an as needed based themselves with linking machines we also stock or by hand. We can also produce and deliver ammunition pre-linked and packed in 100rd cardboard boxes in green PVC “combat packs”, 1,000 rds per case upon request as one of our company’s own innovation. This is the first time that Eastern Standard ammunition has ever been merged with our NATO packaging for the best possible PKM “combat pack”. We also can pack the same for 7.62 x 51 Nato linked ammunition as well.

In addition to being a NATO defense contractor, the Caina-Longbranch group of companies established in 1985 has also specialized in Eastern standard ordnance & ammunition since 1986 and maintains extensive equipment and logistic capability.
Government and bulk orders welcome. We are both CCR & ORCA registered. These PKM links are also available for sale to U.S. shooters and collectors, however, they are not for sale to residents of NY, NJ, CA, MD, DC, HI, and MA due to local and state restrictions. All NFA rules apply.
PKM AMMUNITION CANS & hand operated belt loading machines
Belt loading machines: We carry a small inventory of hand cranked belt loading machines but they are currently European based inventory only
PKM AMMUNITION CANS
For small U.S. Domestic orders we need a minimum $250.00 order to avoid losing money on this new production item (new factory production, not used or refurbished surplus stock)
– 200 rd. 7.62 x 54R steel PKM ammunition can: Limited stock in the United States).
– 250 rd. 7.62 x 54R steel PKM ammunition can: Limited stock in the United States, the highest volume can and the lowest price).
– 100 rd. 7.62 x 54R aluminium PKM ammunition can: Out of stock at the moment and we can no longer hold the old prices due current production cost increases). These actually attach to the gun like an M-249/Minimi plastic 200rd 5.56mm SAW pack. Please enquire.
There are limited numbers of the 200rd and 250rd cans in the U.S. and when they are gone, more will be imported along with more 100rd cans and remaining PKM links, as available.
November 2013 Special Update note to PKM users and buyers: The NATO US Mil Spec system buys M-240 and M-249 ammunition already linked, in M-13 and M-27 links respectively. The Eastern Standard “PKM system”, almost NEVER buys the ammunition linked, preferring to link FMJ ball, tracer, AP, and API, or blank on an as needed basis
SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Another use for starter tabs & making larger or smaller belts in the field
This question was asked and should be shared with other readers The starter tabs in each 100rd belt also help to orient the belt so you are not inserting it in the upside down as you can only insert the belt one way with a starter tab always at the same end of the belt.
The surplus belts or surplus scrap purchased as steel scrap by the Kilogram from scrap yards that have been imported in many cases are for earlier guns and not necessarily PKMs. Not unlike buying used climbing ropes or parachutes and hoping they work most of the time. It the belt fails, then so does the gun. Some may fit and feed, some may not but most or many do not have starter tabs and this is why belts can go in upside down.
Additionally, the 100rd belts with starter tabs are the most practical however, when you need larger or smaller belts in the field the sizes can be made larger or smaller with a pair of needle nose pliers. This is the same way they are assembled by hand on the production line and we can also make or convert from stock larger or smaller belts to order. Complex part, “old school” production, however, very effective and less chance of damage during assembly. This is also why PKM links traditionally cost more than the simpler to produce, much higher volume 7.62 x 51 M-13 or 5.56 x 45 M-27 NATO links.
